A Missouri judge on Thursday agreed to delay a hearing to consider Bayer's $7.25 billion proposed settlement of cases alleging that its weedkiller Roundup causes cancer, rescheduling an approval hearing for September 14.
The judge had previously scheduled an August 19 hearing to consider approving the settlement, but Bayer's Monsanto unit and plaintiffs' lawyers who support the deal asked for more time.
