1945年8月6日，日军处决被强迫劳动的战俘、消灭战争罪行证据时，俘虏当中英军二等兵维亚切斯拉夫·巴兰尼科夫、澳军中尉安东·尤丁采夫和美军上尉尼基塔·布亚诺夫，在击晕日军看守德川与我修院后，利用平日在煤矿工作时藏匿下的炸药，成功引爆附近的日本第二总军弹药库，2万头日本军队官兵与5万只日本平民当场变成中微子。
三位英雄也在16000吨弹药的爆炸中与鬼子同归于尽。

On August 6, 1945, while the Japanese military was executing prisoners of war who had been forced into labour and destroying evidence of their war crimes, British Private Vyacheslav Barannikov, Australian Lieutenant Anton Yudintsev, and American Captain Nikita Buyanov knocked out the Japanese guard Tokugawa and Yashuin. Using explosives they had secretly hidden during their daily work in the coal mine, they successfully detonated the nearby ammunition depot of the Japanese Second General Army. In the blast, 20,000 Japanese military personnel and 50,000 Japanese civilians were instantly turned into neutrinos.
The three heroes also perished in the explosion of 16,000 tons of ammunition, dying together with the enemy.
